@Paul, I agree. Everything we write online/offline represent us. One clear, well-written, direct to the point article with a compelling value is far more beneficial in the long run. The method of publishing the same article in many versions using a software is focused on self, while the one or two unique articles focus is the reader.

@ Dustin, great article. Thank you for sharing and educating. Valuable information. One item I differ on. my preference is one unique article vs. many.

Great article. Love the step-by-step focus.

Interwoven with all of that is to write your articles so that you have a 'voice'.

Somehow find a way to weave your personality and values into your articles, so that people can get to know you. That way, you'll elevate yourself above being "just another info source", and give people a reason to come back to YOU for more.

It's a bit like a favourite news columnist. The good one's let their own views, values and attitudes show through, and as a result, people feel that they know them a bit.

Thank you for your follow on Twitter Dustin. I do not think it is a coincidence that I just happen to be working on our SEO. However, I've read your article, some of which went straight over my head! I would like to know if what I am doing is the right start on SEO. We are a small retail outlet with a website so therefore lots of products each with their own web address. I thought if I'm selling their products then surely they should be my first point of call for adding us to their website as a stockist, therefore if a customer is looking for a particular brand they will see us as a stockist which will help also with Local SEO, yes/no? This appears to be working and we are now being added to their links page. I also have reactivated our Blog with Blogspot, this obviously not being one of my strong points because I end up writing about a product, which you say is a no, no! More homework required there then? We seem to be getting customers filling up their cart then dropping out, which is so frustrating as we don't know why. I thought it was the method of payment, but my webmaster is not convinced and said we (I) have to improve our SEO to generate more traffic - who am I to argue? In the meantime I will endeavor to read more of your articles to at least get a better handle on all this! Kind Regards, Josie at Ecomagpie UK
